Remote Source offers a complete solution for custom remote control design and manufacturing. We can partner with you to bring your unique remote control concept to life, from initial design to mass production.

Our Design Process:

1. Collaborative Design: We work closely with you to define the size, shape, and look of your remote control. 3D renderings are provided for concept review and approval.

2. Rapid Prototyping: If needed, functional prototypes can be created using 3D printing or SLA for evaluation before committing to final designs.

3. Mechanical Design: Once the overall design is approved, our engineers develop the detailed mechanical design, including internal features, button layout (plastic, rubber, or membrane), and external housing design.

4. Mold Design and Production: Mold design considers factors like production volume and part complexity. For high-volume remotes, individual molds are used for each part for maximum efficiency. Lower volume applications or cost-reduction might utilize family molds that combine similar parts. Most molds are built with durable NAK80 steel, lasting for approximately 400,000 to 500,000 production cycles.
